Biraz geriye giderek başlayalım istiyorum. Yazma hevesinin içine nasıl düştüğünü, kimlerce desteklendiğini merak ediyorum. Çocukluğundan, ilk gençliğinden yazar olmaya karar vermek gibi belirgin bir anı hatırlıyor musun?
Okuma yazma benim için her şeyin önündeydi galiba. İlkokul ikinci sınıfta matematik dersinde öğretmen çarpmayı öğretirken ben sıranın altında kitap okuyordum. Yakalanınca azar işitmiştim ve çarpmayı öğrenmem biraz zor olmuştu. Üçüncü sınıftayken yazdığım bir şiir “Hürses” adında yerel bir gazetede yayımlandı. Yazma duygusunun verdiği mutluluğu ilk defa o zaman deneyimledim sanırım. Daha sonra düzenli olamasa da zaman zaman hatırladım bu duyguyu. Yazma hevesim çocukken ailem tarafından da desteklendi. Ortaokul birinci sınıfta Milliyet Çocuk Dergisi tarafından düzenlenen bir öykü yarışması için yazdığım öykü birincilik ödülü aldı. Sanırım o zamanlar “ne olacaksın?” diye sorulan soruları “yazar olacağım,” diyerek yanıtladım. Sonraki yıllarda meslek edinme zorunluluğu, sınavlar filan beni yazmanın uzağına düşürdü ama her zaman iyi bir okur olduğumu söyleyebilirim. [tamamı edebiyathaber.net'te]
